"The best vineyard of the estate yields an intense Grüner Veltliner with authentic character."
The name of this vineyard means “Saint George Mountain”. It is situated on a south facing slope northeast of Grossweikersdorf. This is the best vineyard in the community and was once owned by the Catholic Church. The vines of the Georgenberg grow on the gravel of an ancient riverbed that is now covered with a deep layer of loess. This soil is greatly responsible for the extremely focused character of the wines from this exceptional vineyard. The best vineyard of the Josef Ehmoser Winery yields Grüner Veltliner with authentic character and tremendous ageing potential. Vinification in stainless steel and traditional large wooden casks enhances the structure and depth of this unique wine. The Georgenberg yields an elegant Grüner Veltliner of great complexity and inimitable style.
